The effect of the COVID-19 virus on global demand for oil and gas, along with an ongoing price war that has sent oil prices tumbling at an unprecedented rate, are poised to wreak havoc on new project development plans for this year. According to an impact analysis from Rystad Energy, exploration and production (E&P) companies are likely to reduce project sanctioning by up to USD 131bn, or about 68% year-on-year, as they batten down the hatches to weather the storm.\u00a0
In 2019 total onshore and offshore project sanctioning reached some USD 192bn. At the outset of this year, Rystad Energy forecast that projects representing about USD 190bn worth of investments would be sanctioned this year. Recent developments, however, have spawned a major revision to that estimate.If the price of Brent crude averages around $30 per barrel in 2020, which we see as an increasingly likely scenario, we estimate that total project sanctioning will be reduced to just USD 61bn. Some USD 30bn of the overall expenditure is tied to onshore projects and USD 31bn to offshoret.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

AMPO POYAM VALVES has supplied over 80 highly engineered titanium valves for the Wellhead Platform (WHP) of the White Rose Extension project, whose end-user is the Canadian leading operator Husky Energy. \u00a0\u00a0This field consists of both oil and gas pools. The new Wellhead Platform is composed of topside facilities with drilling capabilities supported on a concrete gravity substructure and it is being positioned in a water depth of approximately 120m. Topside facilities include well heads, well testing, metering, utilities, a flare boom, and support services.\u00a0
All those special titanium valves developed and manufactured by AMPO POYAM VALVES will be installed on the production platform for chemical injection service, seawater supply service and the emergency fire water system service. The valves\u2019 sizes have ranged up to 14\u201d.
AMPO POYAM VALVES is specialized in highly engineered, ad-hoc and special material valves and it has its integrated foundry since 1964. This is considered one of the best European Foundries and an expert in stainless steel and high alloy castings. A Danish wastewater treatment works have moved from manual to automated valve actuation after ordering Rotork CK range electric actuators complete with integral Centronik control modules. Rotork CKc actuators provided the customer with a robust and reliable solution together with a reduced maintenance requirement.\u00a0
The local Danish partner Fagerberg AS ordered isolating duty CKc actuators to be installed by Holsted Smedie at Lolland Forsyning\u2019s Renseanlaegget Hunseby Strand purification plant, located on the Danish island Lolland, where they will be used to operate penstock and gate valves. The actuators will be connected using the Profinet\u00ae network protocol which supports speeds up to up to 100 Mbit\/s.
Every year the plant treats approximately 2.8 million m\u00b3 of wastewater.
The CKc includes all the features included in a standard CK model. The actuator is capable of a direct output torque range from 10 to 500 Nm (7 to 369 lbf.ft).\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Fluor Corporation (FLR) announced that Stork, part of Fluor\u2019s Diversified Services segment, was awarded a 26-month maintenance contract extension by Sitech Manufacturing Services in the Netherlands. Fluor will book the undisclosed value in the fourth quarter of 2020.
Under this framework agreement, Stork will provide maintenance services and will execute projects and turnarounds. The scope of work includes mechanical, electrical and instrumentation services complemented by a portfolio of specialist services such as valves and rotating equipment maintenance and repair, high-voltage services, calibration, on-site machining and bolting, and heat treatment services. Stork will deliver these services using its site office together with Stork\u2019s nearby Solutions Center in Elsloo and Fluor\u2019s local engineering capabilities. The KLINGER Group has purchased the Swiss Aargau-based companies FRANZ GYSI AG and GYSI Dichtungstechnik. The two companies are now part of KLINGER. The businesses of former owner Mr Franz Gysi provide gaskets and valves for several core markets, including district heating and cooling, process heat, gas, water & wastewater, cooling, and loose materials as well as for the biotech, food, chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries. Their addition will enable the KLINGER Group to directly deliver products and solutions to the Swiss market.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>
The FRANZ GYSI AG with its headquarters in Suhr, Switzerland, was formed in 1927 and operated as a family enterprise for 93 years. More than nine decades have already been spent collaborating with KLINGER, especially in the fields sealing technology and fluid control solutions. The second company, the Rheinsulz-based GYSI Dichtungstechnik, was incorporated after taking over a sheet punching subsidiary from today\u2019s KLINGER Kempchen. This enabled the former owner Mr Franz Gysi, himself the third generation to run the business, to add metal gaskets and expansion joints to the product portfolio. With a total of around 50 employees, the companies play an important role as suppliers for the Swiss industries district heating and cooling, process heat, gas, water & wastewater, cooling, and loose materials. Rotork IQ electric modulating actuators were selected for the Milano San Rocco Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), which serves the city of Milan, Italy.
This treatment plant represents one of the biggest examples of wastewater reuse for irrigation in the world where practically all the treated water can be reused for farm irrigation. It processes the wastewater of a population of over one million people, which equates to an average flow of 3 m3\/s.
Over 30 Rotork actuators have been installed on jet valves to provide critical air regulation control at the treatment plant. The actuators have been installed to control the air-inlet in the oxidation tanks.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The Saudi Aramco-led consortium is in talks with the government for the allotment of land for the proposed Rs 4 lakh crore mega refinery and petrochemicals complex in Maharashtra.\u00a0
Saudi Aramco and Abu Dhabi National Oil Company hold a 50% stake in the project with the rest is held by IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL. IOCL holds a 25% stake in the project while HPCL and BPCL hold 12.5% stake each.Ratnagiri Refinery & Petrochemicals Company Ltd (RRPCL) has been set up to execute the world\u2019s largest integrated refinery- cum-petrochemicals complex. State-owned oil firms will resume as many as 511 projects involving over Rs 42,000 crore of investment with immediate effect as the country partially exited from an unprecedented nationwide lockdown.\u00a0<\/span>
Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC), Indian Oil Corp (IOC), GAIL, Oil India Ltd and six other public sector firms identified projects that either in rural areas or have in situ labour for the resumption of work, oil ministry sources said.<\/span>
The government had \u00a0\u00a0allowed makers of information technology hardware, farmers, and industries in rural areas to resume operations as it looked to revive the economy that got stalled because of the outbreak of corona virus pandemic.<\/span>
As many as 319 projects with these 10 PSUs are completely in rural areas and resuming work on them will not be much of a problem. Another 192 projects are within municipal limits but have in situ labour, they said.
<\/span>In FY2020-21, these projects would involve an expenditure of over Rs 42,000 crore. The Punjab Government decided to build a 7 megawatt (MW) waste to energy plant at Simgauli village in Mohali district, an official statement said. Chief Minister \u00a0\u00a0gave the go-ahead for the project of building the plant in over 50-acre area under the Build Own Operate (BOO) model, it said.<\/span>
The project will be completed within the next two years and the waste to energy plant would generate power from 600 tonnes per day (TPD) waste collected from Mohali and Patiala, the statement said.\u00a0 The chief minister said the project would contribute to the implementation of the State Action Plan on Climate Change (SAPCC) and also the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.<\/span>
During the meeting, General Manager, Waste to Energy, NTPC, Amit Kulshreshtha apprised the chief minister that the new state-of-the-art plant, complying with the latest environmental norms, would be installed as a pilot project in the state.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
