Auma Supports Offshore Platforms<\/span><\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

AUMA electric actuators are increasingly being deployed on offshore converter platforms providing high voltage direct current transmission (HVDC) for wind farms. Approximately 150 AUMA SQ part-turn actuators with intelligent AC actuator controls ensure reliable valve automation on the BorWin gamma converter platform in the North Sea, for example.
AUMA will also supply actuators for the DolWin kappa platform that is currently under construction. Both offshore platforms are owned by TenneT, one of the leading transmission system operators in Europe.
A converter platform turns the three-phase alternating current produced by offshore wind turbines into direct current for efficient transport to the mainland. The valve actuators are mainly required for cooling systems that remove heat from the converter electronics. As all the equipment must operate in an isolated marine environment, often 100 km or more from the coast, AUMA actuators are ideal for such a challenging task: their robust design and durable components ensure that they can operate unattended for long periods and with minimal maintenance.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Rotork \u00a0actuators for \u00a0well pads in Canada<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Over 80 Rotork CP, GP, and RC200 pneumatic actuators have been installed on well pads in Alberta, Canada where they will be part of an in situ steam-assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) oil sand extraction project.
<\/span>The well pads follow a new zero-base design (ZBD) and are located in Northern Alberta. It is expected that this project will create a 15 to 20% reduction in the surface footprint for the well pads and a 35 to 55% reduction in the overall well pad cost.
<\/span>The actuators control the flow of steam and bitumen oil in these two wells. The levels of precision offered by the CP, GP, and RC200 pneumatic actuators a critical as the exact temperature must be maintained at all times to ensure that the steam condenses at the right point and facilitate the flow to the separation facility.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

A French valve manufacturer has ordered \u00a0AMPO FOUNDRY for the manufacture of a significant number of high added value safety valve castings for an important refinery in China, a project that is being executed by a leading Italian EPC. This contract award will be the largest contract ever signed in AMPO FOUNDRY\u2019s 56 years history.
For the development and manufacturing of a total amount of 642 valve body castings and 160 valve piston castings, AMPO FOUNDRY will use its cutting-edge Sand Moulding and Centrifugal Spinning production technologies. In its Sand Moulding facilities, with a monthly production capacity of approximately 340 tonnes, AMPO can produce up to 5-ton castings and on the other hand, in its Centrifugal Spinning facilities, with a monthly production capacity of 450 tonnes, it covers 100-670mm external diameter in horizontal spinning and 430-1200mm external diameter in vertical spinning. The weight of the valve castings will vary from 24 kgs to approximately 1 ton.
Moreover, some of the valve components will be machined on the brand-new machining facilities. \u00a0

Rotork announces the award of a new framework agreement for the supply of its products and services to Anglian Water, who supply water and water recycling services to more than six million customers in the east of England and Hartlepool.
Under the new agreement, Rotork will provide intelligent electric IQ actuators and modular electric CK actuators. Rotork will be one of only two companies to provide actuation solutions to Anglian Water.
After a decade with another actuator manufacturer, the IQ intelligent electric actuators installed during the previous framework agreement continue to be used on Anglian Water sites. Corona 19 pandemic affects KSB \u00a0Performance<\/b><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

KSB, the Germany-based manufacturer of pumps and valves, felt the effects of the coronavirus pandemic in the first half of the year.
Order intake, sales revenue and earnings plummeted in the first half of the year, hampered by government-imposed lockdowns in key KSB production countries, reticence on the part of customers to make new investments and deferred service orders.
Order intake was \u20ac 1,113 million, \u20ac 194 million (- 14.8 %) lower than in the previous year. In the Pumps segment, order intake contracted in the first half of the year by \u20ac 124 million (- 14.3 %) compared with the prior-year period to \u20ac 743 million. Order intake in the Valves segment also fell to \u20ac 171 million, corresponding to a decline of \u20ac 33 million (- 16.0 %). The Service segment recorded orders of \u20ac 198 million, down \u20ac 37 million (- 15.8 %) on the comparative prior-year period.
Sales revenue dropped by \u20ac 93 million (- 8.1 %) to \u20ac 1,049 million year on year (previous year: \u20ac 1,142 million). As a result, earnings before financial result and income tax (EBIT) shrank from \u20ac 45 million to \u20ac 15 million (- 66.6 %). This includes negative effects from the sale of four French service companies.
By exercising strict working capital management, KSB was able to improve the net financial position by \u20ac 55 million to \u20ac 219 million compared with the prior-year period.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Curtiss-Wright Corporation announced that it has been awarded contracts valued more than USD 220M to provide propulsion valves, pumps, and advanced instrumentation and control systems for the U.S. Navy\u2019s Virginia-class nuclear-powered attack submarine, Columbia-class submarine, and Ford-class aircraft carrier programs. The awards were received from Bechtel Plant Machinery, Inc. (BPMI) and General Dynamics Electric Boat to support ship construction, spare parts, and submarine back-fit procurements.<\/span>

India’s atomic power plants operator Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL) plans to start construction of four more nuclear power units this year, said a top official of the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC).
He said two units of 700 MW will be in Haryana and two 1,000 MW units in Tamil Nadu and added that the first indigenous 700 MW reactor is expected to start full power operation towards the latter half of the year.
Presently two units of 220 MW are there at KAPS.
The KAPS-Unit 3 is the first atomic power unit that would start commercial operations after the second 1,000 MW unit at Kudankulam went on stream a couple of years ago

NHPC said that its arm Lanco Teesta Hydro Power Ltd \u00a0(LTHPL)\u00a0\u00a0has awarded the Lot-II package of Construction of Balance Civil Works Package of 500 MW Teesta-VI HE Project, Sikkim to Gammon Engineers and Contractors Private Ltd on March 15, 2020, for a contract price of Rs 1,248.44 crore.
The work has been awarded in record time well before the scheduled date. NHPC provided the consultancy works for the same, including the invitation of bids, tendering and evaluation.
Earlier, LTHPL was implementing the 500 MW (125 MWx4) Teesta-VI hydroelectric project on the Teesta river in Sikkim.
The project will be completed at an estimated project cost of Rs 5,748.04 crore (at July 2018 price level), which includes an acquisition cost of Rs 897.50 crore<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
